All of our products are made from leather that is a by-product of the food industry or not solely bred for its hide. We will continue to use leather until there is a material of equal quality to leather, and 100 percent biodegradable, as leather is, being a natural product. We will never use leather substitutes that contain plastic and do not break down naturally.

All packaging is 100 percent recyclable and reusable, even our shipping bags are reusable after you have received your bag. Find out more about our Repack bags. The dust bag that accompanies your purchase is a reusable shopping or beach tote.
Our bags are all handcrafted and made to order ensuring the lowest possible environmental impact. With minimal waste produced and no dead stock disposed of, in contrast to traditional fashion brand business models.
Our products are all multi-use and multi-purpose, which means one product can serve many functions and different types of bags. This way, we are trying to encourage our customers to buy less, and therefore contribute less to all the products that end up in our oceans and in landfill.
We craft our bags to the highest standards, with innovative designs, patented technologies, and the highest quality, responsibly sourced, raw materials to ensure that, with proper care, your purchase will last for many years. However, when the time comes for the bag to be disposed of, we can rest easy, knowing that even the hardware – like the feet and buttons – is 100 percent recyclable. Depending on the state of your bag, we will either purchase it back from you to be refurbished and resold, or repurposed, or you can return it to us so it can be broken down and recycled.

Caring for your Kørt and the environment together
Depending on how you use your Kørt bag, some parts may wear more than others. Should your bag need restoration or repair, simply contact us at info@kort-handmade.com We will send you a quote and organise shipping. In the case that a component of your Kørt bag has seen hard times and is beyond repair (for instance, the clutch or strap), you can simply order a new piece for your bag and recycle the old one. The hardware can be sent back to us at Kørt, where we will give it a new life, and the leather you can turn into a new creation of your own, or send back to us for recycling!
